So it's been a while, but as I start the process for developing a new piece this year, I thought I'd share some of the resources used in the devising/rehearsal process for The Rave Scenes. A couple of times we actually watched one of the movies listed, as a means to have a communal experience so that those with various experiences in "the scene", or none, would have something to discuss.
Each rehearsal, before even getting the script, we would sit in a circle and take turns picking a random book out of the pile, open it to a random page, and read a passage or two. This was informative to both the ravers and non-ravers in the cast.
